Most people have misconceptions about mental health, none of which is more common than the idea that a person is either mentally healthy or mentally ill, one or the other.

We are afraid of death and disease, so we will not regularly undergo physical checkups; but our mental health is often overlooked, leaving us in a bad mental black hole without knowing it.
